UNIFORM APPAREL FOR 2011-2012 at St. Paul Catholic School
|
July 1, 2011
Dear Parents,
Attached is the 2011-2012 Dress Code for all students grades Pre-Kindergarten through grade eight. The student uniform reflects the cohesiveness and unity of the school community. Members of the school community must adhere to the uniform regulations. All uniforms must be purchased from the school uniform company, Flynn & O'Hara. As we know, many of you may not have the proper logo on uniform clothing for the 2011-2012 school year, however, next year, 2012-2013, it will be a must to have the proper school logo on all uniform clothing.
Although the school enforces the dress code, it is primarily the responsibility of each student and his/her parents to see that the regulation uniform is worn. It is expected that a student's appearance and personal hygiene will not be a distraction to others nor interfere with learning. The entire uniform must be in good, clean condition, with no visible tears or missing buttons. All worn out or stained uniform pieces or worn out shoes must be replaced within one week. Clothing is only altered to meet the uniform policy.
All students must be in complete uniform everyday. There will, however, be "out of uniform" days which will be announced during the course of the year (a "dress code" for such days is also required). If there is a time when the prescribed uniform cannot, for a legitimate reason, be worn, a note from the parent/guardian must be written to the Principal. Students who are out of uniform without this excuse will receive a dress code violation and be sent to the office to call a parent to bring the proper clothing. This includes "out-of-uniform" days as well. Three dress code violations will result in detention or a day of suspension if violation continues.
You may contact Flynn & O'Hara Uniform Company via the internet at www.flynnohara.com, or by calling 1-800-441-4122. Peter pan collar blouses, shoes, belts, and socks may be purchased at any clothing store (i.e. Wal-Mart, J.C. Penny's, etc.) as long as the item meets the S.P.C.S. uniform code.
We do have many used uniforms here at school, which are for sale at $5.00 per item. Please feel free to stop by the school between 8:30 AM and 1:00 PM, Monday through Friday, to see the items and the sizes available.
Sincerely,
Miss Warwick
Principal

All students are to be neat and well-groomed. Hair should be clean and combed. The maximum acceptable hair length for boys is above the eyebrows, not touching the collar at the back, and trimmed above and around the ears at the sides. Hair must be cut — not pushed back—to meet this requirement. Hair dyed unnatural colors, ponytails on boys, and shaved designs in the hair are not permitted. A simple hairstyle is required. The school reserves the right to control the extremes in hairstyles and colors. For girls, the hair ornaments should be limited to small barrettes, headbands, (not headbands with long tails) clips, or bows which coordinate with the color of the school uniform. Hair clips, rubber bands, etc. cannot be worn on the wrist.
No cosmetics, lip gloss, colored chapstick, nail polish, eye make-up, lipstick, acrylic nails, and French manicures are permitted in any grade. No Hologram contact lenses and no body piercing, except pierced ears, is allowed.
