Beyond the Bell Registration
Hello Knights,
Welcome to the registration form for our Beyond the Bell program! We are thrilled to offer this exciting branch of education/training to our student body. The following information includes all the details of what we are offering at this time. We can't wait to see your knight 'Beyond the Bell'!
Please read the
all of the information below
before you signing up:
There are two intensive categories,
COURSES
and
WORKSHOPS
. Courses are multi-week offerings that will grow students in a particular skill through a series of weekly sessions. Workshops are one-time, single-day offerings that introduce students to a new skill, in an effort to broaden their scope of
knowledge, as well as help them explore new creative outlets.
Expectations for offered intensives:
Students are expected to rehearse daily, or the amount prescribed by the instructor.
Students
are required to have
ALL REQUIRED INSTRUMENTS, MUSIC,
and
APPROPRIATE MATERIALS
for each session.
Consistent behavior issues and disruptions may preclude participation. If students are dismissed from class 3 times they will be removed from class permanently, and will need approval to rejoin next quarter.
Students are asked to wait calmly and quietly in the designated areas before and after classes. Parents are asked to pick their students up promptly after their session has ended. If delayed, students will be checked into aftercare, and will be charged.
We are always looking for new artists...
Please let us know if you, or someone you know, would like to assist with our program, or volunteer your/their time & talents.
The Fine Print:
You will be billed on your SchoolSpeak account once your student is placed in a class. Pricing varies based on chosen intensive.
Anyone with a previous unpaid BTB balance will not be able to register until the previous balance is paid up in full. -- Please contact us directly if there is an issue.
You may sign up for as many classes that your schedule will allow. Please be mindful of your student's tutoring/athletic commitments in the afternoons.
Please note grade level & skill level that students must represent in order to qualify for each class.
Violin Students - Violins can be fitted and rented from Fuller's Music in New Bern for $26 monthly.
Students need to rent a violin from Fuller's for the duration of the 6 week classes. They have professionals that know how to fit a violin as well as all the components that come with playing violin. If a student has their own violin, please have it checked out at Fuller's to make sure it is working and is the right size for student prior to the first class. Students need a violin, bow, shoulder rest, rosin, cleaning cloth, and a violin case. Students should be available to have personal practice 30 minutes, 4 times a week
Class Descriptions
Sewing (Instructor: Mrs. Timco) - 2nd-8th Grade
Students will be instructed on basic hand sewing techniques using Nursery Quilt Blocks . Students will learn how to execute a minimum of six practical stitches. If time allows, students will also learn how to sew seams, and sew on buttons. This is a life skill program. The students who enroll will receive the priceless gift of being able to hand sew. The students will not receive a finished product. Instead, their finished quilt block will be joined to others to make a beautiful useful keepsake quilt. It will be donated upon completion to Eastern Pregnancy Information Clinic. They will receive a photograph with themselves and others with the finished quilt before giving it away to someone who could really use it.
Violin (Instructor: Mrs. Mayhugh) - 3rd-8th Grade
We are thrilled to offer Beginner Violin Class to our students. The first 20 students will be accepted. Six exciting weeks learning everything from the basics of holding the violin, to playing songs as a group and within smaller groups. This class is for anyone interested in learning how to play the violin! Now is the opportunity to engage in something new and creative. Maybe you are the next violin prodigy, Lindsey Stirling, or Charlie Daniels. Come have some fun developing a new skill that has the potential to bring joy to yourself and others. Violins can be fitted and rented from Fuller's Music in New Bern for $26 monthly.
