FAE 2016-2017 Session 2 Season 4
We welcome you to the beginning of the 4th quarter of the Fine Arts Enhancement program. Most of your favorite classes have remained the same, but we have a few changes and exciting NEW additions to the program!
1. Mr. David English will be separating the Beginner Ukulele and Beginner Guitar students into 2 separate, age appropriate classes that will meet 1 day a week. These classes are only open to students that have had previous experience on either instrument. Some of these former students may be recommended to move up to the Intermediate classes. This is also a great opportunity for some of his previous students to return to class with fewer schedule conflicts.
2. The Hoedown class will continue this quarter and will remain only 45 minutes long. We found that at the end of the day, this age group struggled to stay connected for a longer amount of time and the time change was successful.
NEW: Mural Painting on canvas (Tuesday & Thursdays 3-4pm 5th-8th): I would like to introduce to you the newest FAE member, Amber Harr. Amber will be encourage individual creativity in a group setting and create a mural. This piece of art will be inspired from Scripture. Following it's completion the students will gift their art it to the school. Students will need to work as a team to complete the project, all the while developing their artistic skills like color mixing and shading. Amber Harr has been an acrylic painter for 10 years, and enjoys representing her love of God and all his wonderful creations in her personal art work.. Her art has been jury selected, and she is working towards a degree in Art Education. She currently teaches art classes at a number of retirement community facilities in the area and is the Director of Youth and Children Ministrys at her church.
