FAE 2019-2020 Session 4 Registration

    .
    Dear Families,

It is time to sign up for Fine Arts Enrichment Program’s (FAE) 1st Quarter.
The first class is Monday March 30, 2020.
The last class is on Friday May 22, 2020.
Our  Winter showcase and Saint Paul Variety Show dates are to be determined as of right now.

Please read the House Rules before you sign up for 1st Quarter FAE:

There are two class categories, ACTIVITY and DISCIPLINE.  Activity classes are introductory in nature and do not require any additional work outside of class.  Classes that are categorized as discipline will require students to practice outside of class and assume a higher level of commitment by the student and family involved.

    Expectations of discipline classes:
    1.  Students are expected to rehearse daily or the amount prescribed by the instructor!  Practice makes perfect!
    2.  Students
are required to have ALL REQUIRED INSTRUMENTS, MUSIC, and APPROPRIATE ATTIRE for each class.  Students who do not bring required materials will not be able to participate and will possibly be sent back to class.

Expectation for activity and discipline classes:
Consistent behavior issues and disruptions may preclude participation. If students are dismissed from class 3 times they will be removed from class permanently and will need approval to rejoin next quarter.

Students are asked to wait calmly and quietly in the designated areas before and after classes. Parents are  asked to pick their kids up promptly after their FAE class has ended. If delayed, students will be checked into  aftercare and will be charged. Students who have late FAE classes (3:15/3:30) will be sent to aftercare but will not be charged.

We are always looking for new artists:
Please let me know if you would like to assist with or volunteer your time &/or talents.

    The fine print:

You will be billed on your SchoolSpeak account once your student is placed in a class.  1 day a week classes are $30 and 2 day a week classes are $60 per quarter.

Anyone with a previous unpaid FAE balance will not be able to register until the previous balance is paid up in full. -- Please contact me Directly if there is an issue.

You may sign up for as many classes that your schedule will allow. Please be mindful of your student's tutoring commitments in the afternoons.

Piano and violin classes may be 30 minutes long depending on the student's ability.

Also note grade level and skill level that students must represent in order to qualify for each class.  Piano and violin classes may be 30 minutes long depending on the student's ability.

    Class Descriptions

We are excited for Jordan Amburn to jump in and share his talents with our students and faculty.  Jordan has  been recognized nationally for his talent as vocal soloist.   His theater background includes performing in a wide range of theater roles, directing , choreography, set design, and costume design.  Jordan will be directing an all school theater production in the 4th quarter of this school year.

    Theater Tech

In theater tech we will explore the technical skills it takes to make a production come to life. We will use our imagination to visualize certain technical aspects and special effects of our upcoming production about the miracles of the Bible, like parting the Red Sea. We will complete the process by coming up with logical and impact ways to make the vision come to life, and then executing those plans.

    Voice
Start you vocal career with Jordan Amburn.  He has been recognized nationally for his talent and is ready to pass on what he has learned to your student.  3 years of classical voice - Laurence Stith (UNC-Chapel Hill/Juilliard graduate)- 1 year of classical voice - Perry Smith (Professor of Music at ECU).

    Lego Engineering
Students will learn about all aspects of LEGO building. They will work cooperatively to build and present creations. They will also have FUN together through LEGO games and activities.

    Martial Arts
Mr. David Harr will be leading our martial arts class! In this class students will learn mixed martial arts combos, as well as discipline, focus, balance, and coordination!

    Beginner Painting
Students will focus on shape,  color, while creating illustrations inspired by Eric Carle  and other children's books.

    Advanced Painting
Students will design backdrops and complete paintings that inspire them while focusing on refining painting techniques and attention to detail.

    Cooking 101
Students will gain basic kitchen knowledge through being exposed to different tools, techniques and ingredients.

    Ukulele

Ukulele, this 4 stringed little gem of an instrument, is great for any beginner musician. Students will learn to tune the ukulele, play basic chords and make simple chord progression. The fun happens with the strumming and playing songs. This class will give students an opportunity to build their confidence.

    Dance
The Saint Paul Dance Troupe participants will be introduced and experience dance techniques from a variety of styles including ballet, modern, lyrical, jazz and hip-hop. The student will need dance experience to participate in the level II & III.  She is offering a Basic & Creative Movement Dance class which uses the child’s natural movement as a foundation to build upon. Children will discover and explore movement as they develop body awareness through creative games, stretches, and beginning dance elements. With the use of hula hoops, scarves and other improvisational tools, the children will embrace their instinctive creative abilities, improve their balance and just get their wiggles out through fun music and silly songs.
