FAE 2021-2022 Session 2 Registration

    Dear SPCS family,

    It is time to sign up for Fine Arts Enrichment Program’s (FAE) 2ndQuarter.
    The first class will be held on Monday, October 25th, 2021.  
    The last class is on Friday, December 10th, 2021.
    All performance/showcase dates are to be determined, and will be announced on the website.

    Please read the all of the information below before you sign up for 1st Quarter FAE:

    There are two class categories, ACTIVITY and DISCIPLINE.  Activity classes are introductory in nature and do not require any additional work outside of class.  Classes that are categorized as discipline will require students to practice outside of class and assume a higher level of commitment by the student and family involved.

    Expectations of discipline classes:
    1.  Students are expected to rehearse daily or the amount prescribed by the instructor!  Practice makes perfect!
    2.  Students     are required to have ALL REQUIRED INSTRUMENTS, MUSIC, and APPROPRIATE ATTIRE for each class.  Students who do not bring required materials will not be able to participate and will possibly be sent back to class. 

    Expectation for activity and discipline classes:
    Consistent behavior issues and disruptions may preclude participation. If students are dismissed from class 3 times they will be removed from class permanently and will need approval to rejoin next quarter.
                         
    Students are asked to wait calmly and quietly in the designated areas before and after classes. Parents are  asked to pick their kids up promptly after their FAE class has ended at 4PM. If delayed, students will be checked into aftercare, and will be charged.

    The fine print:
    You will be billed on your SchoolSpeak account once your student is placed in a class.  1 day a week classes are $30 and 2 day a week classes are $60 per quarter.  

    Anyone with a previous unpaid FAE balance will not be able to register until the previous balance is paid up in full. -- Please contact me directly if there is an issue. 

    You may sign up for as many classes that your schedule will allow. Please be mindful of your student's tutoring/athletic commitments in the afternoons. 

    ​Also note grade level and skill level that students must represent in order to qualify for each class.

    Class Descriptions

    We are excited for Jordan Amburn (our FAE Director) to jump in and share his talents with our students and faculty.  Jordan has  been recognized nationally for his talent as vocal soloist. His theater background includes performing in a wide range of  roles, directing , choreography, set design, and costume design.  Jordan is also the President of Elysian Players, a new performing arts company based in Morehead City. Jordan will be directing a school wide theatrical production in the 4th quarter of this school year.  For more information on all of our FAE Instructors, please visit the FAE page of our website.

    Dance (Instructor: Mrs. Roussel)
    Get up, and get moving! if you simply cannot resist moving to the music, this FAE is the one for you. This dance FAE is focused on our older students in order to further educate them in proper technique and encourage further creative expression through movement.

    Theater Tech (Instructor: Mrs. Roussel)
    Ever thought about building a giant volcano? Or wondered how you could make that volcano erupt? Welcome to Theater Tech, where we bring imagination to life! In theater tech we will explore the technical prop/set making skills it takes to put a theatrical production on it's feet. We will use our imagination to create a vision,  and then use the skills we learn to bring that vision to life!

    School Choir (Instructor: Mr. Amburn)
    Love singing? The school choir is the perfect place for you, even if you don't like singing alone. There is strength in numbers! Join us as we practice reading music, and learning to harmonize, all while filling SPCS with some pretty groovy tunes! 

    Wiggle Works (instructor: Mrs. Roussel)
    "I like to move it, MOVE IT!" Does your little one love to get up and move? This FAE is the perfect opportunity for them to get their wiggles out. We will help them take those wiggles, and turn them into creative movement, and a foundation of dance technique.

    Drama Club (Instructor: Mr. Amburn)
    Love dressing up? Making people laugh? Telling stories? Having fun? Then the SPCS Drama Club is the place for you! Step into the spotlight, as you learn how to be a star performer through games, movies, and eventually by putting on a show! Let your imagination run wild, and become the best performer you can be. Join us and take your shot at becoming a star!
